PROTEACEAE SERIES
Banksias, Grevilleas and Waratahs all belong to the Proteaceae family, and are iconic Australian flowers.
We have a Queensland Waratah tree outside our kitchen window, which flowers profusely in September. I am fascinated by the simple complexity of these flowers; a restrained beauty; robust and delicate.
This work is inspired by some of these quintessentially Australian flowers.
